I like the low overhead of Computer Associates eTrust EZ Antivirus. I had a subscription. When it ended I renewed my license through my ISP who offered it for free. Antivirus can be pricey. I go for simple and cheap.
I use ad-aware professional by lavasoft.

For Anti-Spyware I have found that no one program is the best. I use Microsoft AntiSpyware and Spybot: Search and Destroy. Both have easy interfaces and get the job done.

There is NOT one program for what you are looking for. It is best to have more than one program because one is not enough today to protect your PC from BAD people.

well for anti spam I think yahoo has a spam filter and if that dosent work you could try setting up and using mozilla thunderbird which has a spam filter.

I am using PC-cillin from Trend Micro Inc, so far I have never been infected by a virus or any other malicious program while online. It comes with an antivirus module and anti spam features as well as anti spyware. It's a complete package I think plus it is not that expensive as compared to its competirors... Did you want free software or paid for software? There is a good spyware application called 'Ad-Aware' that you can download for free, it scans your whold hard drive for spyware apps and tracking cookies etc. A lot of my friends tend to use Norton for their anti-virus and firewall needs, but this costs. Windows Defender is a spyware scanning and removal tool so you do have spyware. AVG free is an excellent product. I have used both of these programs together on my 2 laptops, my girlfriend's and my mum's PCs for well over a year now and none of them have had any problems with anything nasty getting onto the individual systems so you should have no problems. I have full confidence in both programs. You may have to uninstall your Tiscali antivirus to prevent any potential conflicts with the AVG software though.

From what I could see, you need to pay 3.50 per month to have Norton Internet Security from your ISP. Are you doing that or do you just think it is free and assume it is installed?

the trouble with antispam, is they dont work with web based mail. like yahoo or hotmail. and they dont work that well anyway. just delete the spam, dont open any as they will keep sending.
Don't use Comodo anything. It will REALLY screw up your computer and you can't get it uninstalled.

As the second answer said, antispam products don't really work on web-based email, which is what Yahoo, gMail and others are. Antivirus and antispyware don't have a thing to do with email spam, which comes from spammers who send it out by the thousands, millions, probably. Every time you open one of these because you are either curious or angry, you give them your actual email ID and address, so then you get MORE spam. Yahoo provides one of the best spam blockers in the free-enmail business. Click on spam every time you get a message in your inbox from SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW. Leave your bulk mail alone and just delete it. That's your best protection against spam. The only other thing to do is permanently close your email.

Anyways, Symantec is one of the best, probably the best anti-virus software and if you shell out some extra money, you can buy the antivirus with added features like antispam, firewall, and e-mail and internet protection ect..

Now, if you are worried about the cost of it, then let me tell you friend, symantec is expensive than any other McAfee or other staples (the company staples has a partnership with an anti-virus company, I don't have the name with me) software programs.

So, the best choice by performance, quality, relaiablity, customer service and protection is Symantec. Most of the governmental organization and private companies use the coporate version of Symantec, if you work for a company, hospital, you can as well use the work antivirus program at your home computer, it is completely legitimate.
